The service reset is triggered by mileage & time. It doen't "test" the quality of the oil. If you have any BMW software like BimmerLink (there's others, too
If so, BMW will tell you the transmission fluid is lifetime. Other schools of thought say change the fluid and filter every 60K miles. If you search this website for "transmission fluid" (all forums, not just the F25 subforum) you will find many discussions on the subject. Some have said they had problems and/or complete transmission failure
To reset the wipers to the normal "park" position, hit the Start/Stop button without pressing the brake pedal, and then press the wiper stalk down as you would to stop the wiper operation. Battery registration is required for most current BMW models, probably including the F25 X3, but not for your E83 X3. The requirement was phased in over the last few years, starting with higher-end models, or with a model redesign, so a few of those owners might be starting to need new batteries now.
